Luo han song*(Podocarpus macrophyllus) is usually introduced
with the mundane concept that 「Home with Luo han song will never be
lack of money」. In fact, when it is fruiting, as a result of
different light and shades, the fruit images are being transformed
in our heart. Our mind will then be taken up with reminiscences.
This is what makes it valuable.
Luo han song is always planted in temples because of its refined
aroma which is soul-cleansing. It is also popular in the parks of
Hong Kong, especially in Lai Chi Kok Park and Nan Lian Garden in
Diamond Hill, where more than hundreds of them are found.
Luo han song gets
its name from its fruit
globose and
red receptacles which
look like an arhat wearing a robe. Before this form, it looks more
like an arhat putting the palms close together to recite the sutra. |
